2 Nephi 25:23 - "After All We Can Do"

There's a publication called "2 Nephi 25:23 in Literary and Rhetorical Context" which presents a very intriguging argument for the interpretation of the phrase "after all we can do". That verse is as follows:

For we labor diligently to write, to ^apersuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by ^bgrace that we are saved, after all we can ^cdo.

The paper argues that it should best be translated "despite all we can do" based on the interpretation of that phrase in and around 1830.
