2 Nephi 25:23 - "After All We Can Do"

There's a publication called "2 Nephi 25:23 in Literary and Rhetorical Context" which presents a very intriguging argument for the interpretation of the phrase "after all we can do". That verse is as follows:

For we labor diligently to write, to apersuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in Christ, and to be reconciled to God; for we know that it is by bgrace that we are saved, after all we can cdo.

The paper argues that it should best be translated "despite all we can do" based on the interpretation of that phrase in and around 1830.
